






Red and White Amaryllis- Swedish Mid-Century Oil on Board
This charming still life of red and white amaryllis flowers in a jam jar is painted by the well-listed Swedish artist Edvin Ollers and dated 1944. It is in wonderful condtion for it’s age give or take a few knocks to the gorgeous chunky gilt wood frame. The most glorious colours and exquistely painted, in particular the glass jar which is so hard to get right!
Ollers was a multi-talented designer and artist who was heavily influenced by the French Impressionist painter Paul Cézanne.
He is well represented in several museums including the National Museum in Stockholm, the Modern Museum in Stockholm, and the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen. He is has become very collectable and is a highly sought after artist.
