Wonderful self-portrait of the Swedish artist Max Ettler .Known primarily as a graphic artist whose travel advertisement prints were featured in magazines and posters throughout Europe, he was also a very talented fine artist whose works have become increasingly collectable. This interesting and well-balanced self-portrait shows the artist with a thoughtful, mysterious expression. The chunky,gold wood frame perfectly enhances the shadowy background and fleshy tones of his strong features. Exquisitely painted, this is a handsome and striking portrait which would look fantastic in a library or gallery wall.

Housed in it’s original frame which dates from the mid 1930’s. It has some nicks and scratch marks to the bottom of the frame and previous owners have touched this up with paint- small nicks/ scratches to the left side. Please see photos.Does not detract from the beauty of the portrait
